FAQ

The questions worth a straight answer.

What do I install, and where?

Just one thing: the Tethry app on the Windows PC you want to reach. It’s a small, single download that runs quietly in the background. The phone or laptop you connect from installs nothing — it’s a browser tab.

How do I connect from my phone?

The app shows a QR code, an address, and a password. Point your phone camera at the QR (or type the address at tethry.com), enter the password once, and you’re controlling your desktop. That’s it.

Is it actually secure?

Yes — sessions are end-to-end encrypted between your devices, and every connection is locked behind a password bound to your devices’ keys. The relay in the middle only ever forwards sealed packets it has no key to open, so it never sees your screen in the clear.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes — through the browser. Open Safari, scan the code or go to your Tethry address, and you’re controlling your desktop with no App Store install. Same encrypted line, full control, on the phone you already carry.

Will you flag me for “commercial use”?

No. There is no commercial-use policing, no automated lockout, no email asking you to prove you’re a hobbyist. Use it for work, for home, for both. We charge a fair flat price, not permission to use your own computer.

What does it cost?

Free for 14 days, full access, no card. After that, Personal is $5/month for up to 10 of your own computers and Team is $12 per user per month. No per-device fees, no annual hikes, and you can cancel in one click — no 28-day window.
